In-Game Voice Chat
Voice Chat brings real-time communication directly into ArcheAge Classic. Talk naturally with players around you using Proximity Voice, or communicate with your entire group through Party & Raid Voice, regardless of distance.
Each channel has its own volume, Push-To-Talk keybind, and Deafen control, giving you full control over what you hear and when you speak.
The Voice Chat HUD displays who's currently talking and lets you mute individual players or click on their name to adjust their volume independently. Everything is integrated directly into the game, with no external software required.
Voice Chat is currently available as an experimental beta feature and can be enabled or disabled at any time through the game settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the default keybinds?
The default keybinds are B for Team Voice and ; for Proximity Voice.
Will Proximity Voice work in Dungeons and Arenas?
Proximity Voice will NOT be enabled in Dungeons or Arenas. However, Party/Raid Voice works regardless of your location, making it ideal for these scenarios.
What is your data retention policy regarding what people say through Voice Chat?
Voice data is not retained. Audio is transmitted to the relevant players in real time and is not persistently stored after transmission.
Is there a Priority Speaker system?
Not yet, but it's near the top of our list of requested features.
What if someone abuses Voice Chat?
First, mute them. This will save your ears. Second, we will be dealing incredibly harshly with Voice Chat abuse:
- Permanent Voice Chat ban: No longer able to speak or hear any Voice Chat.
- Permanent Text Chat mute: FAFO.
Why "Beta"?
This is still an experimental feature. While we are confident things will go smoothly, should major issues be encountered we are reserving the ability to fully turn off Voice Chat during this beta phase.
When will it be available?
Voice Chat will be available on ArcheAge Classic starting August 14th, after the weekly maintenance.
