When the rumors of |nn;ghost ships|r first started cropping up, I didn't dismiss them like most people. Many don't realize that all myths and legends contain at least a kernel of truth.

When war was ravaging Auroria, the Goddess Nui warned its citizens to travel to the land we now call Nuimari and to bring as few belongings as possible.

She promised she would save them from the destruction of their homeland by opening a portal they could walk through to get to the southern continents.

For a month, thousands of people traveled to Nuimari, often with only the clothes on their backs. Just as the Goddess Nui had asked.

However, not everyone trusted the goddess, and some chose to follow their own greed in place of her orders.

They filled hundreds of ships with gold and riches and tried to sail to the southern continents. When Auroria finally fell, great tsunamis swept the seas. Every ship was lost.

Everyone who died onboard was barred from entering the Hereafter, because they had willfully ignored Nui's commands. Their spirits were banished to the black, frigid waters.

Now, centuries later, adventurers have begun to find all that lost treasure. But for every piece dragged back to the surface, another ghost becomes hopelessly enraged.

Their hatred and jealousy of the living has given them shape and form, and now, tangible ghost ships rove the waters, attacking any who come too close.

The seas are becoming more and more treacherous; ordinary citizens like myself have no chance against a ghost ship. Please, if you can, put those ghosts to rest.
