I wasn't trying to help a pirate; I was hoping to kill a pirate by selling him faulty wares. Jura wanted to watch, and I guess it got him killed.
Defendant Marssen
I feel terrible about Jura's death. I want to help his family. I can't bring Jura back, but I could at least do some good in his name.
Defendant Marssen
I've written this confession with the help of a guard. Can you show it to some of my fellow citizens?
Defendant Marssen
If they sign a petition, the judge will revisit my sentence. Perhaps he'll allow me to do something with the rest of my life, besides spending it in chains.
